Braces work by placing gentle forces on the teeth moving them into the desired position. To ensure your treatment is efficient and effective your braces are adjusted periodically. Treatment time varies from person to person; however, an average treatment time is around 18-24 months.
After your braces are removed, our orthodontists will recommend a retainer to ensure your teeth don’t move. Most patients will have a small custom-made wire bonded behind the front six teeth to keep the bottom teeth aligned and a customised, removable clear retainer to keep the top teeth in position. Every smile is different though and our team will chat with you about the best retainer for you.
