After working for a number of years in as a general dentist in private practice, Lisa returned to UQ in 2010 to pursue her passion for orthodontics. After 3 years of full-time specialist training, she graduated with a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in the specialist field of Orthodontics. Lisa also undertook further examinations in Adelaide and was awarded Membership with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (in the special stream of Orthodontics) in addition to the Membership in Orthodontics through the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.
In 2013, Lisa was awarded the Australasian Orthodontic Board UQ student prize for her clinical cases presented as a post-graduate student. Her postgraduate research regarding ergonomics in dentistry resulted in two scientific publications. Lisa is a registered specialist orthodontist and is a member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA) as well as the Australian Society of Orthodontists (ASO).
In addition to private practice, Lisa has worked in Government clinics as a specialist orthodontist where she primarily treated complex cases. She also volunteers her time as the Queensland Liaison Officer for Give a SmileTM - a charitable branch of the ASO.
Lisa enjoys learning new orthodontic techniques and keeps up with the latest in orthodontics by attending local and international conferences, study group meetings, lectures and webinars.
When not practising orthodontics, Lisa enjoys outdoor activities with her husband and three boys usually running, riding and swimming. They also enjoy holidays at the beach and spending time with family and friends.
