Yes, they may still have some 'baby teeth' but an early consultation with our specialist orthodontist allows us to evaluate the existing and incoming teeth. This then means we can start planning for any treatment they may need now or in the future.
When to first visit the orthodontist.
There's no magic age that signals when you should visit an orthodontist. Generally, it's best to schedule your child's first orthodontic consultation with us between the ages of 7 and 10. By this time the first permanent molars are typically present and we are able to check for any developing malocclusion or misalignment. Your regular dentist will monitor your child's teeth and bite and recommend orthodontic treatment if necessary.
